FOUR suspected robbers were killed in a shootout with police operatives in Lipa City, Batangas province early Friday, an official said.
Senior Superintendent David Micu Quimio, Lipa City Chief of Police, said one of the suspects was identified as Alvin Magtibay, 17 years old.
Quimio said police caught the suspects robbing Studio Rey and Rey Watch repair and jewelry shop located at Mabini St., Barangay (village) 5 around 1:15 am.
The suspects first fired at police, who retaliated, Quimio said.
Two of the suspects died on the spot while the other two were declared dead on arrival at the NL Villa Hospital, said Quimio.
The suspects were believed to have been members of the "Tetano Gang" involved in robbery, hold up, cellphone snatching, thrill killings, and other street crimes, said Quimio.
